April Showers Card

If you're looking for my DT Cardabilities card, click HERE or scroll down...

(I was going to post this on the weekend...but it's already the end of the month! So, in order to be able to enter it in some challenges, I'll be posting 2 cards today...)

I made this card today and it was inspired by a few challenges:

I layered stickers and a panel of polka dots paper. I hand drew lines and "stitches" between the two sections with a black pen. I sponged white pigment ink on the stickers and paper to tone it down.
I added the chipboard umbrella, flower and bow (which I outlined with a black pen).
I glued Prima flowers and added some pearls in centers and also on the bow.
Finally, I added some glitter glue on umbrella and the flower on top.

Challenges:

2. Always Playing with Paper #32 {Use Polka Dots on your Card or Paper Project}

3. MMMC #11: April Showers

4. Addicted to Stamps #142 Make Your Mark
5. Simon Says Mon Anything Goes
6. Word Art Wed #181: Anything Goes/Family Friendly
7. Simon Says Wed Anything Goes

{Tue} Technique: Cards using DIY Glitter Glue Video Tutorial

Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Hello,

Today I'm sharing a video tutorial!
I love glitter, but the glitter glues I buy never seen to have enough glitter...so sometimes, I make my own. Although, loose glitter is a nightmare...I must admit!
But since I still have them (what was I thinking when I bought them?), I thought I should use them once in a while! =)

Here's the card I used as example in the video:

Here's a card I've made previously:

Hope you like it!

Cardabilities Design Team Reveal #121: Butterfly Mother's Day Card

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

(I have 2 posts today...if you're looking for my DT project for Decorate to Celebrate, please click HERE)

Hello, crafty friends!

It's the 15th...and you know it! It's Cardabilities Design Team Reveal Day!
Here's the gorgeous sketch by Karan:

And here's my card:

I simply layered 2 patterned papers for the base. I cut out some leaves (Spellbinders), using solid green and patterned paper, and layered them with some flowers. I added 3 pearls to the blue flower's center.

I cut a butterfly (Artiste Cricut Collection- CTMH), both shape (patterned paper) and the scroll (white cardstock). I inked the scroll butterfly, added glitter to the wings, adhered (by the body only) on the shape cut, and adhered on the card.
Then, I stamped sentiment on Colonial White cardstock, cut the banner, inked the edges and adhered on butterfly with foam tape. Finally, I added more pearls to the top right side of card.

Challenges:

{Sun} Sweets: Washi Meets...Lilies

Sunday, April 5, 2015

Hello,

I have a card, using washi tape, to share today...I didn't post it on Wed since I already had 2 post for that day...

I stamped the lily 3 times with VersaMark, sprinkled white embossing powder on, brushed off some sections for a "faux masking" (although I missed a spot), heat embossed, and colored with Copic and ShinHan TouchTwin markers.
I stamped the frame and "He is risen" on patterned paper, fussy cut it and turned it into a "vase/pot".
I added the washi tape on the left and stamped a border...

And here's the inside of the card:

Decorate to Celebrate DT Challenge #97: Butterfly Easter Card, Treat Boxes and 3-D Egg

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Hello,

(This is my second post today...If you're looking for my House of Cards DT post, please click HERE...
and for the newest Cardabilities Sketch Reveal, please click HERE)

The last 2 weeks flew by...can you believe it's April and a new challenge at Decorate to Celebrate already?
Create anything 3-D and link it HERE for a chance to win a mini album from Rhonda!

I made a"Happy Easter" Card, using sketch #116 from CAS(E) This Sketch, treat boxes and a 3-D Easter Egg (with the "help" of my kids):

Card:
Punch card corners; run red cardstock through Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and adhere on card; stamp flower a few times, cut out and layer with 3-D foam tape; stamp sentiment on cardstock, cut out a banner and adhere on card with foam tape; stamp butterfly, watercolor it with PearlEx, cut it out and layer on flower.

Challenges:

Treat Boxes:
Cut it out with Artiste cartridge using Cricut (or other die-cut machines, templates, etc...), ink the bunny/flower, cut out and adhere patterned paper/punched grass and eggs on sides. I also stamped on the flower. Fill with treats! =)

Challenges:

3-D Egg:
Cut out 6 eggs using a die cut machine (I used my old Slice...).
1. Score
2. Fold them in half
3. Adhere them side by side. To make it a self-standing egg, just cut a straight line at the "bottom".
4. The kids at church glued and decorated their own eggs...

Supplies:
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Inkadinkado, Unity Stamp Co. and CTMH stamps
ArtBars (Derwent)
PearlEx Watercolor CD
Slice
grass Border Punch
patterned papers
foam stickers
