Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog DT Challenge #258: Campout!

Monday, August 17, 2015

Happy Monday and welcome to another FCCB Monday challenge!

Challenge #258-Camping
Create a project that features camping activities.

My Creative Time

And the prize is:

This is a FUN PACKED full of pretty flower & leaf dies. It includes a total of 18 dies.  All of the flower dies include outside stitching on the negative portion. This die set is valued at $24.99!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

So...we don't really camp here...well, sometimes we camp in my in-laws' field with friends. And they have a lot of deer and wild animals there...I love watching them pass by!
So, here's my funky card...you can say I was experimenting...

I had started to make a tri-fold card for this challenge, but somehow I "lost" it...I'm pretty sure it's right in front of my nose, but I can't find it! (Can you tell my desk is a mess? I have like "thousands" of projects going on...)

Anyway...I used Artfully Sent CTMH Cricut cartridge for the deer and bunny. I colored them with gel sticks (aka Gelatos for kids) and blended them with a wet wipe. Some details were done with a Copic marker.
I stamped the eagle and clouds (CTMH), and "sun rays" (Stampabilities). I also colored the clouds with gel stick, blending it with my finger.
I added sequins on the eyes because I didn't like what I'd done with a black pen...(they look like they're scared, though...). Oh, well! Like I said, I was experimenting... =)

Have a nice week! And thanks for stopping by!

{Tue} Tag: Nautical Tag Card

Monday, June 15, 2015

I made a card...for my father-in-law:

I have been wanting to use Gelatos, but with other "toys" to play with, I haven't bought any...yet...
So, I "borrowed" my kids' Gel Sticks from Faber-Castell to play! =)

How-To (Tag):
1. Cut a tag, punch a hole on top using Crop-a-dile and ink the edges.
2. Stamp image of choice for the background.
3. Add washi tape on the right side of tag. Set aside.
4. Tear a piece of cardstock to go on the tag, as shown in photo, and stamp script image.
5. Using a stencil, spread glitter glue with a brush or palette knife. Let dry.
6. After it's dry, apply blue gel stick and blend it with water and a brush. Set aside.
7. Stamp seashells and seahorse and heat emboss them in white. Fussy cut and color them with Copic Markers. Set aside.
8. Die cut leaves, outline them with Copic marker.
9. Assemble the tag with the stamped images, die-cuts and dimensional sticker, as shown.
10. Use foam tape for the seahorse and add fibers to tag.

How-To Card:
1. Cut the card using Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.
2. Trim a cardstock panel for the back of the card front and adhered it.
3. Color the front with gel sticks of your choice.
4. Blend each color with brush and water for a watercolor look.
5. Apply more gel sticks on card for added texture.
6. Adhere the tag using foam tape...and ta-da!

Challenges:
1. Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #13: A Year of Choices (#8 New To You - gel sticks)

2. The Male Room #12: Technique-Add a Tag

3. Fusion: Blue Skies & Smooth Sailing

4. Word Art Wed #187: Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Here's my card:

Challenges:

I'm not really into gold...but lately, I've been in love with gold! Especially gold/mint or coral, and gold/black.
I used the CTMH Artbooking cartridge for the star overlay and the flower, and I heat embossed them in gold.
I used CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge for the banner and the panel (altered in CCR and trimmed).
Then, I added some stamping to the panel and banner, popped-up the flower with 3-D foam tape, and added the thread and button.

Thank you for stopping by!

Decorate to Celebrate DT Challenge #97: Butterfly Easter Card, Treat Boxes and 3-D Egg

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

Hello,

(This is my second post today...If you're looking for my House of Cards DT post, please click HERE...
and for the newest Cardabilities Sketch Reveal, please click HERE)

The last 2 weeks flew by...can you believe it's April and a new challenge at Decorate to Celebrate already?
Create anything 3-D and link it HERE for a chance to win a mini album from Rhonda!

I made a"Happy Easter" Card, using sketch #116 from CAS(E) This Sketch, treat boxes and a 3-D Easter Egg (with the "help" of my kids):

Card:
Punch card corners; run red cardstock through Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and adhere on card; stamp flower a few times, cut out and layer with 3-D foam tape; stamp sentiment on cardstock, cut out a banner and adhere on card with foam tape; stamp butterfly, watercolor it with PearlEx, cut it out and layer on flower.

Challenges:

Treat Boxes:
Cut it out with Artiste cartridge using Cricut (or other die-cut machines, templates, etc...), ink the bunny/flower, cut out and adhere patterned paper/punched grass and eggs on sides. I also stamped on the flower. Fill with treats! =)

Challenges:

3-D Egg:
Cut out 6 eggs using a die cut machine (I used my old Slice...).
1. Score
2. Fold them in half
3. Adhere them side by side. To make it a self-standing egg, just cut a straight line at the "bottom".
4. The kids at church glued and decorated their own eggs...

Supplies:
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Inkadinkado, Unity Stamp Co. and CTMH stamps
ArtBars (Derwent)
PearlEx Watercolor CD
Slice
grass Border Punch
patterned papers
foam stickers

Thanks for stopping by!
