{Tue} Tag: Nautical Tag Card

Monday, June 15, 2015

I made a card...for my father-in-law:

I have been wanting to use Gelatos, but with other "toys" to play with, I haven't bought any...yet...
So, I "borrowed" my kids' Gel Sticks from Faber-Castell to play! =)

How-To (Tag):
1. Cut a tag, punch a hole on top using Crop-a-dile and ink the edges.
2. Stamp image of choice for the background.
3. Add washi tape on the right side of tag. Set aside.
4. Tear a piece of cardstock to go on the tag, as shown in photo, and stamp script image.
5. Using a stencil, spread glitter glue with a brush or palette knife. Let dry.
6. After it's dry, apply blue gel stick and blend it with water and a brush. Set aside.
7. Stamp seashells and seahorse and heat emboss them in white. Fussy cut and color them with Copic Markers. Set aside.
8. Die cut leaves, outline them with Copic marker.
9. Assemble the tag with the stamped images, die-cuts and dimensional sticker, as shown.
10. Use foam tape for the seahorse and add fibers to tag.

How-To Card:
1. Cut the card using Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.
2. Trim a cardstock panel for the back of the card front and adhered it.
3. Color the front with gel sticks of your choice.
4. Blend each color with brush and water for a watercolor look.
5. Apply more gel sticks on card for added texture.
6. Adhere the tag using foam tape...and ta-da!

Decorate to Celebrate DT Challenge #93: Altered Chocolate Box

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

Hello,

It's a new Anything Goes Challenge at Decorate to Celebrate!
Here's my project:

Challenges:
1. MMMC #9: Think Pink
2. SSS Mon: H is for...
3. WAW #169: Anything Goes
4. FCCB #244: Valentine's Day
5. H2H CTMH: Home is where the Heart is

I altered this chocolate box from Fannie May...but before I get to the how-to, a funny story...
The box was under my coffee table...when I grabbed it to start my project, the "supposedly empty"
box was filled with these:

My funny boys...don't know which one did it, though! =)
Maybe my oldest son N...since I saw him playing with it the other day...

OK, to the how-to:
1.The box had these pretty swirls on top, so I just covered it with 2 different decorative tapes from my stash. They are not really washi tape, they're shinny, kinda like pretty packing tape.

2. I added 2 strips of patterned paper to cover the sides. The colors were a little bit off, so I added pink polka-dots washi tape on top of the strips. I also glued a pink decorative ribbon on the top edge.
3. I cut a floral wreath from Artfully Sent Cricut cart and adhered half of it on box.
4. I used a light pink ink pad to stamp Doily and fussy cut it.
5. I stamped Doodle circle and sentiment in bright pink ink, fussy cut it, and adhere on top of Doily with foam tape.
6. I adhered the stamped embellishment on box, and added paper flowers (Prima) and a rolled flower from Art Philosophy Cricut cart.
7. Finally, I mixed liquid glue (The Paper Studio) with glitter (holographic purple and white) and brushed them on the flowers and "branch" with a paintbrush.

Supplies (CTMH):
Artfully Sent and Art Philosophy Cricut cartridges
Doily stamp
Doodled Designs stamp set
Sentiment - Mini Valentine stamp
foam tape
pink polka-dot washi tape
White Daisy cardstock
Others:
decorative tape
patterned paper
ribbon
liquid glue
glitters
paintbrush
flowers (Prima)

Here's one of my creations...

...a wreath ornament...took me forever to wrap the yarn around the metal bookplate...but totally worth it! =)

Then I added the flowers...

Seashell Butterfly Card

Saturday, August 9, 2014

I saw the One Layer Challenge at Hero Arts a while ago, but almost forgot about it if I had not checked my e-mail a few days ago...so here's what I created...

I used an overlay cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH) as a stencil and modeling paste, on the left side of the card. Then, I created my seashell "butterfly" with the masking technique and hand-drawn antennae.
I watercolored the hexagons by tapping ink pads on my mat, adding water and using a paintbrush.
Finally, I sprayed some gold ink and stamped the background text.

Supplies:
Antique Engravings and Summer Memories (Hero Arts)
Modeling Paste (Liquitex)
Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH)
gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko)

I'm also entering this card in:
2. Mixed Media MC #3: Stencils with Modeling Paste
3. The Mixed Media Card Challenge #2: Summer
4. OLS Challenge #8: Shades of Summer (I picked Combo #5)
5. WAW #144: Anything Goes
6. SSS Wed Challenge: Make It Sparkle

Have a nice weekend!

Never Dull Your Sparkle Art Journal Page

Sunday, July 20, 2014

Hello,

This is a page from my Doodle Smash for Mixed Media Monthly Challenge #2: Around the House, where you're supposed to use household items in your project...

Here are the items I used...

And this is how I did it...

1. I stamped the lady in black on my page, then on Colonial White cardstock. Colored her with Copic markers and cut it out. Added Glitz Glitter Gel on her dress and set aside to dry.
2. Tore patterned paper and adhered on page.
3. Place bag (that orange bag from mandarin oranges) on page and spray metallic gold ink.
4. Stamped Reversed Punchinella in purple and Sentiment in black.
5. Adhered the cut out lady on page.

The bag gave me this pattern:

6. Using the toilet paper rolls and bottle, I added circles to the page (I used metallic paints and different ink pads).
7. Using the ruler, I stamped black lines on the top...they're supposed to be "strings" for the "paper lanterns".

8. Added paper flowers.
9. Sprayed more gold ink on page.

I'm also entering this page in:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: About a Face
SSS Wed Challenge: Spots & Dots
Word Art Wednesday Challenge #141: Anything Goes
Unity {be inspired} Challenge Color 18
and my first time in...
