Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog DT Challenge #258: Campout!

Monday, August 17, 2015

Happy Monday and welcome to another FCCB Monday challenge!

Challenge #258-Camping
Create a project that features camping activities.

This Weeks Sponsor
My Creative Time

And the prize is:

This is a FUN PACKED full of pretty flower & leaf dies. It includes a total of 18 dies.  All of the flower dies include outside stitching on the negative portion. This die set is valued at $24.99!

To qualify for the prize, be sure to use at least 1 Cricut cut on your project and if it's not obvious, let us know what cartridge you used. If you use a Cricut Explore machine, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.

So...we don't really camp here...well, sometimes we camp in my in-laws' field with friends. And they have a lot of deer and wild animals there...I love watching them pass by!
So, here's my funky card...you can say I was experimenting...

I had started to make a tri-fold card for this challenge, but somehow I "lost" it...I'm pretty sure it's right in front of my nose, but I can't find it! (Can you tell my desk is a mess? I have like "thousands" of projects going on...)

Anyway...I used Artfully Sent CTMH Cricut cartridge for the deer and bunny. I colored them with gel sticks (aka Gelatos for kids) and blended them with a wet wipe. Some details were done with a Copic marker.
I stamped the eagle and clouds (CTMH), and "sun rays" (Stampabilities). I also colored the clouds with gel stick, blending it with my finger.
I added sequins on the eyes because I didn't like what I'd done with a black pen...(they look like they're scared, though...). Oh, well! Like I said, I was experimenting... =)

Have a nice week! And thanks for stopping by!

"I'm a new DT member! And really excited to be on the team! Now, I'll have an excuse to use my Cricut more! =)
I'm a fairly new Cricut owner (I purchased my E2 end of 2013...before that I was using a Slice) and I have about 13 cartridges. I don't have the Explore...yet! =)
I've been stamping and crafting for over 10 years now...

Card and Sock Monkey were cut using CTMH Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge. I heat embossed the banners, backed the front with patterned paper, added washi tape around the edges, and added the banners. I colored the Sock Monkey with Copic markers and adhered it with foam tape.

I also have a little Blog Candy here...

Cardabilities Design Team Reveal #124: Forever Flip Card

Saturday, May 30, 2015

Hello, crafty friends!

It's the 30th...It's Cardabilities Design Team Reveal Day! It's also my last project as a DT member...hope you enjoyed all my projects!

Here's the fun sketch by Karan:

Our Sponsor for this sketch is Crafty City:

You have until the 13th of the following month to link up (click HERE to link your projects)!
And don't forget to "like" our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Cardabilities

When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought swing (or flip) card!

I used double-sided paper and cut the card and wreath using Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge (CTMH).
I heat embossed the wreath in silver. I added a cream panel, a punched border, some washi tape and stamping to the card.
The birds and banner are heat embossed in clear and popped-up with foam tape. The cake was heat embossed in silver.

Thank you for stopping by!

French Dies {Fri}: Butterfly and Apple Honeycomb Card

Friday, May 29, 2015

Hello,

Today, I have  two die cut cards to share!
I cut both cards using Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge (CTMH).
I heat embossed a few of the "left over" hexagons in gold (and red) and adhered them to the inside of cards.

First up is:

I cut the butterfly using Artbooking Cricut cartridge (it was altered in CCR) and heat embossed it in black UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel), twice. The second time, I also sprinkled some copper and platinum UTEE.

Now...if you're going to leave the card with the open front like that, I suggest inking or heat embossing the back side of the butterfly for a finished look.
You could also back the die cut front panel with glittered or patterned paper, if you don't want the writing showing.
Another option is to write the message on the back of the card.

Challenges:

Second card:

These hexagons were adhered with foam tape.

Challenges:

Have a nice weekend!!!
