Damask Divas Blog Hop: Frosted Ornaments

Saturday, November 30, 2013

Hello,
Welcome to the Damask Divas Blog Hop!

If you came from Cydney's Blogyou are in the right place.
If you have jumped here and just discovered our Blog Hop, feel free to check the list at the Damask Divas Blog to find the complete list of Blog Hop participants.
This month we're featuring the Frosted Paper Collection.

I had these metal bookplates and decided to create ornaments for my in-laws.
All I had to do was to cut the papers and embellishments to size and adhere them with Liquid Glass.
Good thing they're double-sided, so you can see both patterns! Plus, I'll be adding a photo on the back...

Without much ado, here's the first one:

And the second one:

Supplies used:
Flakey Friends (C1506)
Christmas Village (D1554)
Artbooking Cricut Cartridge
Liquid Glass
3-D Foam Tape
Gemstones
Sequins
Thread
Copic Markers

Your next stop is Tammy's Blog...hope you enjoy our Blog Hop!
And don't forget to check the monthly specials HERE.

Update (02/03/13): I'm entering the first ornament in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Seeing Double Card

Friday, November 29, 2013

This simple one layer card combines two challenges at H2H Challenge Blog: Seeing Double and Technique Time (Sponging).

I used the Card Chatter-Focus on a Friend stamp set (it will be retired soon, so grab it while you can!).

The other technique involved is heat emboss resist:
I stamped the big image in dark blue first, and the rest of the sentiment in Cotton Candy. Then, I stamped the big image two times (with VersaMark) and heat embossed in clear.

Now, here's the sponging part! I used a sponge dauber to sponge the turquoise pigment ink on the two embossed images. Don't know if you can see it, but I tried to do a ombre effect (darker on top and lighter at the bottom). And don't forget to wipe off the excess ink from the embossed images.
To finish it off, I added some baker's twine.

Update (12/03/13): I'm also entering this card at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes.

Thank you for stopping by!

Inky Happy Birthday Card

Monday, November 25, 2013

Hello,
This is the second card I created for Tyra's Inspiration Challenge (S.E.I.)!

I must say this one was quite a challenge...in the cleaning department! I used several reinkers and ended up with an inky mess to clean! =)
But I loved how it turned out!

The stamped banner and sentiment is from the stamp set Banner Wishes (Close to My Heart) and the decorative tape is from Recollections. Ink pads are VersaMagic Turquoise Gem and Memento Rich Cocoa (Imagine Crafts).

I'm also entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge...CFC 121: Create with 8.
I used 8 drops of ink (2 for each color: yellow, red, green and blue)! There's also a number 8 to the left of the banner...and "birthday" has 8 letters...does that count? =)

Have a nice day!

You're Too Sweet! Card

Thursday, November 21, 2013

This card is for Pinspired Challenge #21!

The cupcake is from the "A Chocolate Affair" stamp set from CTMH...I used markers to color the different sections, then cut it out.
The doily was cut using the Slice.
The sentiment and gemstones are from Studio G.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy Tree Card

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Not a really fun card to make...but sometimes it's needed...this one was for my boss, whose father passed away last week

The tree is from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH). I outlined the leaves' shapes with different color markers and added some gemstones. I also colored the trunk in brown. Grass is a Fiskars border punch. Sentiment stamp is Wordsworth.

Update (11/22/13): I'm entering this card in the Rose Blossom Garden Challenge Blog Challenge #16: Fall Theme
