Mixed Media {Monday}: Gratitude Art Journal Part 2

Monday, October 13, 2014

Remember my Art Journal pages that I almost forgot to post end of last month?

Here's the photo inspiration again:

I didn't have time to write the how-to...so here it is!

How-to:
1. The background was half done! I chose the orange pages from my Smash (the red one)...
2. I had an old overlay cut from Artbooking Cricut Collection (CTMH) and I used it as a stencil for the modeling paste;
3. I painted the modeling paste using 3 different colors of reinkers;
4. Added some splatters with a paintbrush, using the same 3 colors;
5. Then, I stamped on pages using different background stamps (Script is Stampabilities, others are CTMH - D1604 Season of Thanks);
6. I stamped the big flower (Inkadinkado) on a piece of cardstock, colored it with regular markers and watercolored using PearlEx Watercolor CD;
7. I also stamped Script Background stamp on flower, cut it out and adhered on page;
8. I added the dragonfly (Unity Stamp Co.) and sentiment (C1559 Always Grateful - CTHM);
 9. Finally, I colored the dragonflies with Copic markers and added Glitz Glitter Gel (CTMH - retired).

Lovely Hearts Card

Thursday, July 17, 2014

I found The Card Concept not too long ago...haven't played along, yet...until I saw this color combo! I've used teal, red & white before (see card HERE)...but not with the black.

Here's my really simple CAS card:

I used the stamps from the Artbooking Cricut Collection. And some glitter on the flowers.
Tip: The solid heart was stamped using the back side of the flower heart stamp (in black).

Entering the card in:
1. The Card Concept Challenge #14: Colour Challenge
2. Word Art Wednesday Challenge #141: Anything Goes
3. CAS on Sunday Challenge #37: One Layer Wonder

Father Quote Card

Thursday, June 12, 2014

Hello,
I haven't been posting a lot lately...I'm been busy, busy, making a baby album for a friend and a commissioned scrapbook album for a customer...
But Father's Day is just around the corner, so I thought I would share one...

The quote reads: "A father is someone who listens with his heart, speaks with his hugs, and teaches not by words but by example." (Unknown)

I used the Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH) to cut the arrows overlay on the back and the stamp is Paper Inspirations. Pretty simple!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
1. Word Art Wednesday Challenge #136: Anything Goes
2. Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #214: Celebrate Dad

Thanks for stopping by! And thank you for all the lovely comments!

Damask Divas Blog Hop: Frosted Ornaments

Saturday, November 30, 2013

All I had to do was to cut the papers and embellishments to size and adhere them with Liquid Glass.
Good thing they're double-sided, so you can see both patterns! Plus, I'll be adding a photo on the back...

Without much ado, here's the first one:

And the second one:

Sympathy Tree Card

Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Not a really fun card to make...but sometimes it's needed...this one was for my boss, whose father passed away last week

The tree is from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge (CTMH). I outlined the leaves' shapes with different color markers and added some gemstones. I also colored the trunk in brown. Grass is a Fiskars border punch. Sentiment stamp is Wordsworth.

Update (11/22/13): I'm entering this card in the Rose Blossom Garden Challenge Blog Challenge #16: Fall Theme
