The Card Concept DT #39: Daisies Birthday Card

Wednesday, September 9, 2015

Hello, crafty friends!

I'm so excited!!! This is my first project for The Card Concept in the Mixed Media category!
Here's the photo inspiration:

And here's my card:

Challenges:
I was inspired by the colors and the flowers...so, I started with a panel I sprayed with purple ink. I stamped a texture stamp with blue ink and blended blue gel stick (aka Gelatos for kids) using a wet wipe.
I cut flourish using Cricut and heat embossed it in silver. I also cut daisies in different sizes, scored and bent the petals, layered, and added gel stick and glitter glue for the centers.

Finally, I stamped sentiment on a banner, adhered it on card and added sequins.

Foto Inspiration {Fri}: Pretty Packaging Card on Mother's Day!

Sunday, May 10, 2015

Hello,

Happy Mother's Day!
Today's card (clean and layered) was inspired by this photo (I was supposed to post this on Fri, but my laptop didn't cooperate!):

How-To:
1. Cut the flower overlay using Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge, ink it in Brilliance Pearlescent Coral and heat emboss it in clear (I did it twice).
2. Adhere it on glossy chevron patterned paper, round the corners and adhere the panel on card.
3. Add washi tapes and white shimmer tape on the left.
4. Color the white shimmer tape with Copic markers.

5. Add flowers.

6. Stamp a sentiment on a tag (Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge) and adhere it on card (using foam tape).
7. Add pearls on flowers' centers.
8. Add glitter on small flowers' centers.

Challenges:
1. The Card Concept #34 {Pretty Paper Packaging}
2. Simon Says Mon Don't Abandon the Coral
3. Simon Says Wed Let's Get Sentimental
4. Word Art Wed #182: Anything Goes/Family Friendly

Have a nice day!

Chalkboard Thinking of You Card

Sunday, September 14, 2014

This is a free-style collage card for a couple of "Back to School" challenges...

And a tip...
This is how you get colorful images on dark paper without having to buy a bunch of colored embossing powders...
I stamped letters on black paper with VersaMark and heat embossed in white. Then, I colored them with alcohol-based ink markers. The brighter the colors, the better!
Of course, you would have to buy a bunch of markers...but I bet you already have them, right? =)

Supplies:
Framework Alphabet (CTMH)
VersaMark
White embossing powder
Brilliance ink pad
Chalkboard stamp set (Recollections)
twine
3-D foam tape
washi tape

Challenges:
1. Tyra's S.E.I Challenge: Back to School & Fall Fun
2. The Card Concept #18: Back to School Theme
3. STAMPlorations September Challenge: Stamps & Markers
4. SSS Wed Challenge: Make your Own Background
5. WAW #149: Anything Goes

Lovely Hearts Card

Thursday, July 17, 2014

I found The Card Concept not too long ago...haven't played along, yet...until I saw this color combo! I've used teal, red & white before (see card HERE)...but not with the black.

Here's my really simple CAS card:

I used the stamps from the Artbooking Cricut Collection. And some glitter on the flowers.
Tip: The solid heart was stamped using the back side of the flower heart stamp (in black).

Entering the card in:
1. The Card Concept Challenge #14: Colour Challenge
2. Word Art Wednesday Challenge #141: Anything Goes
3. CAS on Sunday Challenge #37: One Layer Wonder
4. Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Anything Goes
